As a “mature” drummer with a full time career in healthcare, John has been flexible when the lessons are held and in the goal setting as I progress, recognising that some weeks are more productive than others. We play a variety of genres and his skill in identifying my strengths and areas for development alongside a recognition that drumming is fun, help to keep a realistic focus. He is patient and provides well constructed feedback during the lesson and afterwards with a written plan.  He is clearly passionate about making music and has encouraged me to video my performances which he sets to the piece so that I can see the finished results. 

Surprisingly video lessons do work well and have not hampered my progress – although I look forward to the time when I can play “face to face” again.”
